Tony Monisse
Director

Tony founded Brentnalls WA in 1993 after 14 years with the Big Four accounting firms in audit and income tax, including a two year secondment to London.

Tony provides advice to business enterprises on a wide variety of matters, including:

  • Strategy and financial management
  • Tax planning
  • The restructure of businesses, including the acquisition and sale of businesses
  • Asset protection

Tony’s key focus is the integration of strategy and financial management. To this end he has developed tools and process that facilitate this integration, including business modelling, target setting and rolling cash flow forecasts.

Tony facilitates advisory boards for a number of clients and is a presenter for the Brentnalls WA Business Growth Network. He is the former Chair of the Brentnalls National Affiliation of Accounting Firms.

Outside of work Tony enjoys spending time with his wife and family; he cycles and enjoys travel and photography.

Chris Mandzufas Director

Chris joined Brentnalls WA in 2005.  Prior to that he was an Account Director at Deloitte, a Big 4 accounting firm, where he worked for 15 years in the Growth Solutions Division. In his time there, Chris spent nearly 5 years managing their Kalgoorlie office and still has many clients based in that region.

He has been the Chairman of the Brentnalls Affiliation of Accounting Firms (Australia and New Zealand) and continues to sit on the Executive Board assisting driving strategic change.

Chris has a diverse range of skills and experience as a result of providing accounting, taxation, advisory board and management consulting services to owners and directors of fast growing businesses.

Outside of work Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and family and enjoys playing golf, tennis and fishing when he can.

Chris Smith
Director

Chris Smith joined Brentnalls WA in 2013, and became a director in 2018. Prior to joining Brentnalls WA, he was a manager in a mid-sized firm in West Perth where he had worked for 9 years since completing university.

Chris has been a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand since 2006, a member of the Tax Institute of Australia since 2013, and a registered Tax Agent since 2018.

His focus is on providing strategic tax advice to businesses and high net worth individuals, including:

  • Tax planning
  • Succession planning
  • Asset protection
  • Estate planning and administration
  • Structuring new businesses
  • Restructure advice, including tax consolidations

Outside of work Chris enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, friends and dog. He plays golf and enjoys cooking “low and slow” on his Kamado BBQ Smoker. Chris is also a member of the Fremantle Dockers.

Alana Barnes
Client Manager

Alana is a Chartered Accountant with 11 years experience in tax and business services firms with an emphasis on business development work. Alana’s career began in a mid sized firm in West Perth and she was rapidly promoted from graduate to senior and then on to manager within 3 years. Alana has been exposed to a wide variety of industries from engineering and construction through to family bakeries and lawn mowing rounds.

Alana has many solid client relationships built based on trust and dependability and also has a keen interest in developing junior staff, including mentoring candidates in the Chartered Accountants program.  Alana has a keen interest in proactive accounting such as interim tax planning and is always looking to ensure the most efficient structure is in place for clients.

Alana provides a range of services including:

  • Taxation (income tax, GST, FBT)
  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Structuring advice for new businesses or investments
  • Small Business Tax Concessions including capital gains tax
  • Accounting systems and process including accounting month end checklists
  • Advice on MYOB and QuickBooks software

Outside of work Alana is a keen traveler culminating in a four month worldwide trip as part of her long service leave in 2013. Alana enjoys spending her downtime playing hockey and socializing with friends and family.

Bradley Whelan
Client Manager

Bradley has 12 years of extensive accounting experience including due diligence assignments.

As a Client Manager, Bradley’s areas of expertise include:

  • Preparing & reviewing business accounts & tax returns
  • Facilitating Quarterly Business Reviewsfor clients & conducting meetings
  • Managing monthly accounting reports & meetings
  • Tax planning

Qualifications & Memberships

  • Bachelor of Commerce
  • Certified Practising Accountant

Outside of work, Bradley enjoys walking and playing with his two dogs, follows sport (AFL, soccer, cricket, horse racing) and enjoys holidaying overseas and interstate with his wife.

Alok Patel
Client Manager

Alok Patel joined Brentnalls WA in 2012 as an intermediate accountant and promoted to Senior Accountant in 2015 and became manager in 2021. Alok’s career started in a mid-sized firm in Mount Lawley where he had worked for 2 years since completing university.

As a Client Manager, Alok is working closely with business clients and high net worth individuals. He provides a range of services including:

  • Income tax compliance (Company, Trust, Partnership, Sole Trader)
  • Tax Planning
  • SMSF
  • FBT
  • GST
  • Small Business Tax Concessions including capital gains tax
  • Accounting systems and process including accounting month end checklists
  • Advise on Xero and MYOB softwate

Qualifications & Memberships

  • Bachelor of Commerce (Major in Accounting & Taxation)
  • Master of Professional Accounting

Outside of work, Alok enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, follows sports (Cricket, AFL, Tennis)  and enjoys holidaying overseas with his family.
